The
Session Controller provides complete functional
control of RADAR® with access to all editing,
transport control and utility/system functions.
The
Session Controller also has a Jog/Shuttle Wheel
for added functionality and input jacks for foot
switches to allow hands-free control. Keys are
arranged in groups to make them easier to learn
as well as reducing unnecessary hand movements.
TRACK ARMING
The Track Arming keys are used for several purposes:
for arming tracks prior to record, for punching
in on additional tracks while recording, and in
editing modes, for selecting track(s) to be edited.
These switches are momentary type with an LED
in the center to indicate active status.

JOG/SHUTTLE
OPERATION
RADAR® 's Jog/Shuttle modes provide fast,
precise location in recorded material. Shuttle
Mode uses the Jog Wheel to vary the speed and
direction of audio for locating points; Jog Mode
allows you to "scrub" the audio to find
exact locations.
The Session Controller connects to the RADAR®
using a DB37 connector on the Session Controller
side and a DB9 9pin connector, and DC power jack
(which supplies +12 V power) on the RADAR®
side. The LED screen is 16 x 2 characters and
measures 4 inches by 1 inch. Other connections
on the Session Controller include 3 footswitches
and a mouse port. The footswitches are preset
to Play/Stop, Punch in/out and Cue to last locate
point. Currently, the mouse/mouse port is not
functional, but will be useful for future functionality.
